Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for her pioneering work in studying child witnesses and eyewitness memories in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded many grants and has been awarded numerous award both international and national. She has worked with many organisations and governments across the world on policy and research pertaining to children who have been victims of the justice system. She is consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of a variety of professional organizations, for example, the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychological Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
