Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard within her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music not to get work or for a passion however, as a chance to grow. In the end, she began writing the music she composed herself. Her sources include noted writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her affinity with Bjork's style. She began performing her music in public when her mother suggested that they might help others not gain acclaim for her work but to make those around them see the importance of their work and how they impact the world. She was suggested by her mother to sing her songs in public in order to make people aware of their own importance and how they impact the world. Her family didn't know about this until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. Aurora claims she loves writing music. To her music, is the best method of expressing anything.
